Dr. Rizzo began his education at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. He continued his education at S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York. Dr. Rizzo also attended the Universidad el Noreste, Tampico, Mexico.
Dr. Rizzo completed his Medical Internship and Residency at the Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at St. Francis Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. His Interventional Cardiology Fellowship was completed at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ.
Dr. Rizzo has been an Interventional Cardiologist at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ, since 1990. From 1988 to 1990 Dr. Rizzo was Director of Interventional Cardiology at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Rizzo is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Rizzo is a Board Member of the New Jersey Society Interventional Cardiology. He is also a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey.
Dr. Rizzo was the Vice President of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Cardiology in 1999 and 2000, the President of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Cardiology in 2001 and 2002. He is a member of the State Subcommittee on Cardiology in New Jersey Department of Health since 2001.
