Dr. Ashish B. Patel received his Bachelors degree in Biology from Brown University in Providence, RI. He then continued to work for various organizations including the United Nations in the areas of International Health and Epidemiology. He completed his medical training at New York Medical College where he also obtained a Masters in Public Health.
Dr. Patel completed his internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center. He then completed his training in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Patel is trained in the most advanced techniques in invasive Cardiac electrophysiology including catheter based ablations for arrhythmias ranging from atrial fibrillation to ventricular tachycardia. His focus on heart rhythm disorders includes the treatment of syncope, inherited arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and the prevention sudden cardiac death. He specializes in the implantation of pacemakers, cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), and biventricular devices.
Dr. Patel has also been actively involved in research in the field of heart rhythm disorders. He has authored manuscripts describing the mechanisms of atrial fibrillation in experimental models as well as presented his clinical research at numerous national and international meetings over the past five years.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Dr. Patel is board certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, and New York Medical Society.
