Lance S. Berger, MD, FACC
Photo of Lance S. Berger, MD. FACCDr. Berger graduated from the University of Rochester and completed medical school at the Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. His served his internship at New Rochelle Hospital, followed by residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Berger received his training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. After completing his training, Dr. Berger entered practice in Atlanta, Georgia. While in practice, Dr. Berger received the teaching award from the residency program at Georgia Baptist Medical Center, was involved in numerous hospital committees, and helped establish a community-based heart failure disease management program with a major managed-care organization. He was affiliated with the nationally recognized Fuqua Heart Center of Piedmont Hospital, and was principal investigator in several research studies.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Berger is board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Nuclear Cardiology. He is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the Heart Failure Society of America. He has lectured physicians and the community on the treatment and prevention of heart failure. He is actively involved in teaching at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He is currently the medical director of the Heart Failure Center at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Dr. Berger performs cardiac catheterizations, as well as nuclear and echocardiographic stress testing. He performs transesophageal echocardiograms as well. Specific interests in cardiology include heart failure and preventive cardiology, but Dr. Berger welcomes the opportunity to provide consultative services for the full range of cardiovascular indications.
